Tejidos de la Tierra

"Tejidos de la Tierra: Where the Tree Breathes and the Thread Blossoms" is a sensory and immersive installation that brings together two deeply symbolic elements of Paraguayan identity: the silk-like fiber of the Ceiba speciosa tree (samu'u, also known as the silk floss tree) and traditional Ñandutí lace.

I personally collected the fiber from the Ceiba speciosa trees in Itauguá, Paraguay. This organic material represents a direct connection to the land, memory, and the living natural world. The fiber is combined with Ñandutí, created using traditional techniques learned from local artisans, forming a dialogue between ancestral knowledge and contemporary artistic practice.
